Swami Avatar Puriji and Swami Rajendra Puriji visit Vienna Yoga in Daily Life Centres
3–5 January 2025
The first weekend of the New Year 2025 was marked by an inspiring visit from Swami Avatar Puriji and Swami Rajendra Puriji to the Vienna Yoga in Daily Life Centres/Ashrams at Trubelgasse 19 (1030) and Schikanedergasse 12/13 (1040).
Swami Avatar Puriji and Swami Rajendra Puriji, long-time disciples of Vishwaguruji, Paramhans Swami Maheshwaranandaji, have lived in the OM Ashram in Jadan, Rajasthan, since childhood. Raised and educated under the guidance of Vishwaguruji, they were later ordained as sannyas renunciates, or swamis.
Swami Avatar Puriji is the Designated Successor of Vishwaguruji, while Swami Rajendra Puriji holds the title of Acharya, having completed advanced Sanskrit and Vedic studies at renowned universities in India.
New Year Celebrations
On Friday, 3 January, the New Year Satsang was celebrated in Guruji Ashram and the following day, on Saturday 4 January, the gathering continued at Mahaprabhuji Ashram.
Guruji Ashram is named after Paramhans Swami Madhavanandaji, respectfully called Holy Guruji, who is the Master of Vishwaguruji. This ashram has been a guiding light of spirituality since its founding.
Mahaprabhuji Ashram is the first ashram founded by Vishwaguruji in the West, in 1976, and is known for the “Eternal Light” oil lamp that has been burning on the altar there since its establishment. It is dedicated to the holy incarnation Bhagwan Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji, (the Master of Holy Guruji), who left his body in samadhi (the highest state of consciousness) in 1963 at the age of 135.
In heartfelt words, Swami Avatar Puriji and Swami Rajendra Puriji highlighted the significance of this ashram and yoga centre as the origin, source and starting point from which Vishwaguruji spread his light and teachings of his centuries-old master lineage throughout the world. His system, Yoga in Daily Life, is a holistic approach that promotes physical, mental, social and spiritual health, incorporating vegetarianism as a key element of a sustainable and healthy lifestyle, while supporting animal welfare, environmental conservation and climate protection.
Sanskrit Mantra Workshop
On Sunday 5 January, Guruji Ashram hosted a workshop titled, Sanskrit Mantras in Theory and Practice. This insightful session introduced participants to the profound meanings and practices of Sanskrit mantras.
The workshop included translations, chanting, and explanations, leaving participants with a sense of inner peace and spiritual light. Attendees from around Austria and neighbouring countries joined to experience the transformative power of mantra chanting.
Closing Dinner
The weekend concluded with a dinner and social gathering in a harmonious and joyful atmosphere. All participants expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the inspiring presence of the respected swamis and the spiritual energy they shared with all at the start of the New Year.
This memorable visit inspired all to continue on the spiritual path of Yoga in Daily Life, toward inner peace and holistic well-being.
